The mandate of this project was to design the vinyl record artwork for the heavy metal activist band Rust and Bone, a fictitious music group originating from Canada. Inspired by the grunge graphic design style of the 80s, we experimented with typography, transparency, and bold colours for this design piece. Noticeable in this design is the use of drastic photo-editing to bring out the contrast and saturation of the photos used in the artwork. Needless to say, minimalism and a grid layout structure were not at all considered in this design process. It’s okay to steer clear of graphic design rules once in a while!
